Coach Moses and his ladies humiliated their counterparts 5-1 at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Saturday.Footballrover reports.

Merit Offor scored a spectacular goal to tie the score for Confluence Queens after Emem Essien had earlier handed Edo Queens the lead just 13 minutes into the game.

From there, Edo Queens swiftly turned the tide of the match, thanks to goals from Chioma Moses and Goodness Osigwe, who helped them to a decisive success.

Goodness Osigwe and Emem Essien both scored a brace, capping the team’s five-star performance.

Speaking after the game, coach Moses told reporters that he was pleased with his team’s win and believed the National Women’s Football League was improving steadily.

He acknowledged the Conference Queens’ strength, noting that they had scoring opportunities but were unable to capitalise, while his team was more efficient.

Speaking on what to expect in their next match, the coach said,

“We hope to win. So, we’ll prepare well for the next game.”

The coach, reflecting on their past encounter with Confluence Queens and its impact on his team’s victory, remarked that it was a chance for payback.

He explained that they were unhappy about the previous loss. While acknowledging his girls’ good performance, he added that they struggled to score.

The Edo Queens coach expressed the team’s determination to win the Super Six, emphasising that finishing in second place is not their desire.

“Finishing second best is not an option. Last year, we lost out woefully, and the government is waiting for us,” he said.

He acknowledged the government’s significant financial and logistical support, which creates an obligation for the team to succeed.

However, the coach noted that they are taking the situation one game at a time, with their focus being on the upcoming match against Rivers Angels on Monday.

I think we are condemned to win the Super Six. We have one game on Monday, and that’s against Rivers Angels,” he concluded.
