Nigerian forward Edna Imade came to the rescue once again, scoring a decisive goal to help her side, Granada, avoid a potential slip during their Liga F Matchday 10 clash with Levante Badalona on Saturday afternoon.
The fast-rising Nigerian star netted a second-half equaliser, securing a 1-1 draw for Granada at home at the Ciudad Deportiva del Granada, Footballrover reports.
Granada entered this Primera División Femenina match on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Espanyol and were hoping to bounce back to winning ways.
However, Imade and her teammates had to battle hard to snatch a hard-earned point against a resilient Levante Badalona side.
Edna Imade’s sixth goal of the season keeps Granada’s campaign alive
The game came alive in the second half after a tight first period in which both teams struggled to break the deadlock.
Ghizlane Chebbak gave the visitors the lead just 19 minutes into the second half, but Edna levelled the score for Granada seven minutes later with her sixth goal of the season.
Imade’s effort proved decisive, ensuring Granada claimed a share of the spoils despite immense pressure from the visitors.
The 24-year-old forward put in a stellar performance, recording three shots on goal, six accurate passes, and creating one big chance during her 90 minutes on the pitch.
Of her 26 touches, five were in the opposition box. Imade also won two tackles, made two recoveries, and won 50% of her ground duels.
The draw means the struggle continues for Edna Imade and her teammates, who have now secured just two wins, one draw, and two defeats in their last five matches.
Granada has dropped five points in their last two outings, leaving them in 9th place on the table with 10 points, 17 behind leaders Barcelona, who are yet to play their game.
