Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers netted his second league goal of the season as Rangers secured a resounding 4-0 home victory over Hibernian in Matchday 9 of the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox Stadium.
The 28-year-old striker’s late strike capped off a dominant performance by Rangers, who were led by Senegalese forward Abdallah Sima’s early goal in the 17th minute, footballrover reports
Nicolas Raskin extended the lead before halftime, and Sima’s brace in the 65th minute put the game out of reach for Hibernian.
Dessers’ goal 14 minutes later sealed the emphatic win for the home fans.
Dessers played 81 minutes in the match, registering five shots, one of which found the target and secured the three points for Rangers.
Despite Dessers’ recent goal drought, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has expressed his confidence in the striker’s ability and pledged to help him rediscover his scoring form.
Dessers has scored four goals and provided two assists in 16 appearances since joining Rangers from Italian club Cremonese this summer.
With the victory, Rangers now turn their attention to their Europa League clash against Sparta Prague at the epet ARENA on Thursday.
