Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence on the shocking death of Liverpool star Diogo Jota, leaving fans more heartbroken with his emotional words.

The Portuguese star said goodbye to his national teammate, who died in a tragic car crash in Spain at just 28, Footballrover reports.

News of Jota’s death has shaken the football world. Ronaldo reacted with a touching tribute on his social media page. He wrote:
“Doesn’t make any sense. Just now we were together in the national team; just now you were married. To your family, to your wife and children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. R.I.P. Diogo and Andre. We will all miss you.”

Jota’s brother, Andre Silva, also died in the same crash. Andre played for Portugal’s second division club, Penafiel.
Their car left the road and caught fire after a tyre burst while overtaking on the A-52 motorway in Zamora.

Jota also left a mark on Portugal’s national team. He debuted by replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Lithuania.
He later scored his first international goal against Croatia and played in the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
