Nigerian rising star Uchenna Ogundu is set for a fresh adventure after sealing a three-year move to Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

From humble beginnings in Diamond Academy to making headlines in Türkiye, Ogundu’s story shows how talent, grit, and passion can open doors to bigger dreams, Footballrover reports.

Alanyaspor confirmed the signing of Ogundu through a statement on the club’s official website.
The 19-year-old forward joins from second-tier side Şanlıurfaspor, where he wasted no time proving himself.

After moving from Diamond Academy in August 2024, Ogundu smashed 10 goals in just eight matches for the Şanlıurfaspor U19 team — a performance that earned him a quick promotion to the first team.

The versatile forward, who can play as a centre forward and right winger, made a big impact in his debut senior season, scoring six goals and adding two assists in 19 games.
His strength, 6 ft 1 frame, powerful shots, and burst of pace have turned heads — even attracting interest from Heart of Midlothian and Fenerbahce.

Uchenna Ogundu becomes the first Nigerian to join Alanya since Chidozie Awaziem’s loan in 2021–22.
Speaking about his move, Ogundu thanked everyone at Şanlıurfaspor and promised Akdeniz temsilcisi fans his full commitment:
“After a special year with Sanliurfaspor, the time has come for a new chapter. To my teammates, coaches, staff, and especially the fans, thank you for your belief and support and for making my time in Urfa a meaningful one. I’ll carry the memories and lessons with me. Now, I look ahead to this new chapter with Alanyaspor. I’m ready to give everything for the badge, the team, and the supporters,” he wrote on social media.
