The 26-year-old left-back, on the other hand, was Newcastle’s fourth January signing, on loan until the end of the season.

Targett told the club’s website:

I’m delighted to be here. I can’t wait to get going and meet all the fans and hopefully we can have a successful end to the season.”

With this army of players, Newcastle’s owners will undoubtedly want Eddie Howe and his boy to make no excuses for failing to avoid relegation.
