Blessing Nkor made headlines on Sunday after saving her team, Asya Spor, from potential defeat in the Turkish Women’s Football Super League game against 1207 Antalyaspor.
The Nigerian Under-20 striker, Blessing Nkor, scored a crucial goal for her Turkish WSL team, Gaziantep Asya Spor, resulting in a 1-1 draw against 1207 Antalyaspor during the weekend match.
Nkor’s goal was the equalizer that secured a valuable point for her team during the ninth matchweek at the Konyaaltı Belediyesi Atatürk Stadı, Footballrover reports
The former Sunshine Queens star found the tying goal in the second half, erasing the early lead established by the hosts in the first half.
Both teams are grappling with relegation challenges in the Liga Turca Feminina, and this draw elevated Blessing Nkor and her teammates to 13th place with five points.
They are just one point ahead of their hosts and four points clear of Ataşehir Belediyesi, who sit at the bottom of the table.
The Nigerian forward has enjoyed a promising start in the Turkish League since her move from Tanzanian side Yanga Princess.
Expressing her happiness on social media, Nkor shared,
“Turkish WSL Asya Spor in 1-1 draw with 1207 Antalya yesterday. I was on the score sheet. I was the leveler. Have a blessed week.”
This young sensation is now eagerly looking forward to their upcoming fixture with high expectations.
