Despite suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bendel Insurance in their recent NPFL matchup, Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede has expressed his admiration for his team’s fighting spirit.
Ismail Sarki produced the crucial goal for the Benin Arsenal side in the 25th minute, Footballrover reports
Speaking on his social media page, the Remo Stars coach acknowledged the team’s efforts and emphasised the importance of learning from the setback to improve their performance in future matches.
Following the loss at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Remo Stars were forced to settle for third place on the NPFL table.
But the Daniel Ogunmodede side is poised to bounce back from this defeat and continue their pursuit of success in the Nigerian League.
The coach emphasised focusing on the next matchday as they hope to maintain a positive outlook and move forward with renewed vigour.
“Tremendous spirit from the team to get the desired result in Benin. We will learn from this experience and switch our full focus to the next match day,” Daniel Ogunmodede wrote on his X page.
Meanwhile, after Sunday’s deserved victory over Remo Stars, Monday Odigie, the head coach of Bendel Insurance, stated that his squad will continue to improve.
In addition to claiming that his team has not yet realised its full potential in his post-match interview, Odigie promised that they will learn from their mistakes to improve more.
“It’s not all about the result; it’s about how we can improve game by game. The team will learn from their mistakes to improve more. It’s a long league; the players will catch up,” he said.
The victory propelled Insurance to the sixth position in the NPFL table, securing 10 points. They are currently three points behind the top team but have the advantage of having two games in hand.
