Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf produced another brilliant performance on Thursday night, providing two assists to inspire Ferencváros to a 3–1 victory over Ludogorets in their Europa League Group Stage clash at the Groupama Arena.
The Europa League round four encounter saw Yusuf play a decisive role in both the opening and second goals as the Hungarian champions extended their unbeaten run in Europe, Footballrover reports.
Bamidele Yusuf’s Creativity Drives Ferencváros to Victory
In the 32nd minute, the 24-year-old showed great awareness to set up Gabi Kanichowsky for the opener, before combining neatly with Cadu early in the second half to make it 2–0.
Yusuf also thought he had scored on the stroke of halftime, only for VAR to rule his effort out for offside.
Despite that setback, he made a great impact before he was subbed off in the 63rd minute for Lenny Joseph, who went on to score Ferencváros’ third goal in the 87th minute, sealing the win after Ludogorets had briefly pulled one back through Son in the 78th minute.
Yusuf Continues Fine Europa League Form
It was a solid performance from Yusuf, who earned the Man of the Match award with an impressive rating as well.
The Nigerian forward now has two assists and one goal in three Europa League appearances this season.
Just last week, Yusuf scored his first-ever Europa League goal—a match-winning strike that completed a dramatic 3–2 comeback victory over Salzburg.
With that display followed by his two assists against Ludogorets, he has now inspired Ferencváros to three consecutive Europa League wins and kept their unbeaten European record (three wins, one draw) intact.
The result lifts Ferencváros to third in their Europa group with 10 points, as they prepare for a crucial clash against Fenerbahce next time out.
After the match, Yusuf took to Instagram to share his delight, writing:
“Great team spirit. Important points. Let’s go for more.”
