With a narrow victory over TNS on Tuesday night, Ferencvaros, led by Nigerian striker Tosin Kehinde has qualified for the UEFA Champions League’s third qualifying round.
Tosin Kehinde and his Ferencvaros team were on a mission in Wales to crush all in their path, Footballrover reports.
The Nigerian was part of the Ferencvaros squad that demolished The New Saints FC with a staggering 7-1 aggregate scoreline.
The Hungarian side were in for a huge ride through the competition with a massive victory over their counterparts from Wales.
The Nigerian forward Kehinde played his part in Ferencvaros attacking options, helping the team cruise to a 2-1 victory in the second leg.
A goal by Philippe Rommens 17 minutes into the second period of the game gave the visitors a 2-0 lead, but it was Kristoffer Zachariassen who broke the deadlock two minutes before halftime.
However, Joshua Daniels pulled one back for the home team in extra time, but it wasn’t enough to rescue his team as the visiting Ferencvaros side already had a 5-0 lead coming into the game.
With this dominant performance, Ferencvaros have booked their spot in the next round and are now focused on domestic duties.
The Nigerian forward Tosin Kehinde was included in the starting lineup, but Balint Katona replaced him five minutes before the end of regulation.
The 26-year-old left-winger will be looking to carry his Champions League form into the Hungarian OTP Bank Liga as Ferencvaros face Kecskemeti TE.
