How AC Milan will lineup for their upcoming Champions League fixture has been revealed; it raised more than a few eyebrows with Samuel Chukwueze benched.
Samuel Chukwueze, fresh off a match-winning performance, found himself relegated to the bench, Footballrover reports.
Despite his crucial contribution to Milan’s Serie A victory just a few hours ago, the Nigerian winger won’t feature from the start against Club Brugge, sparking speculation about his future at the club.
Chukwueze’s performance in Milan’s 1-0 win over Udinese had offered hope of more consistent involvement in the squad.
Scoring the game’s only goal in his first start since August, he displayed the kind of sharpness fans had been eagerly awaiting.
His neat finish in the 13th minute, following a slick interplay between Noah Okafor and Christian Pulisic, seemed to confirm his return to form.

Though Chukwueze had recently dealt with an injury while on international duty with Nigeria, his swift recovery allowed him to start last weekend’s match.
But, to the surprise of many, coach Paulo Fonseca remains unconvinced, choosing not to field him in two consecutive games.
Chukwueze benched again, fuelling exit speculation
In his pre-match press conference, Fonseca revealed his starting XI for the Champions League clash with Club Brugge.
Fonseca opted for a forward line featuring Christian Pulisic, Alvaro Morata, and Rafael Leao, leaving Chukwueze benched yet again.
“I’m satisfied with the options we have,” Fonseca stated, emphasising the depth in his squad.
His comments only added to the growing belief that Chukwueze, who has started just three matches this season, may be seeking a move away from the San Siro.

Rumours linking him with a January exit from AC Milan have intensified in recent weeks.
Chukwueze’s situation will undoubtedly be one to watch as the transfer window approaches, as one might be wondering how long the talented winger will accept being on the sidelines.
For now, with Chukwueze benched, the Nigerian forward will be hoping for another opportunity to prove his worth on the pitch.
