Trabzonspor have been dealt a major blow as Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a serious injury.

The veteran attacker is set to be out for around two months following a hamstring problem sustained during the club’s narrow win over Kocaelispor, Footballrover reports.
Anthony Nwakaeme Injury Confirmed After MRI Scan
Nwakaeme’s injury occurred in the second half of Trabzonspor’s 1-0 victory over Kocaelispor on Monday night.

The 36-year-old was part of the starting XI alongside compatriot Paul Onuachu, who scored the decisive goal in the tightly contested fixture.
The Nigerian international had to be substituted in the 84th minute, with Arif Bosluk coming on to replace him.
His absence will be a big setback for Trabzonspor as they navigate the early stages of the season without one of their most experienced attackers.
Trabzonspor’s Medical Update on Nwakaeme’s Condition
Following the match, Trabzonspor’s Health Board President, Assoc. Prof. Dr Ahmet Beşir, confirmed the severity of the injury.

“Our football player Anthony Nwakaeme, who was injured in the match against Kocaelispor in the first week of the Trendyol Super League, was examined, and an MRI scan was performed on him, revealing a tear, bleeding, and widespread oedema in the posterior muscle and tendon of his left thigh. Our medical team has begun treatment for our player.”
The diagnosis means Nwakaeme will miss several key fixtures, with his recovery expected to take about eight weeks.
Trabzonspor will now have to adjust their attacking setup to cope without the Nigerian forward.
Nwakaeme’s setback comes at a time when Trabzonspor are aiming to build momentum in the Turkish Super Lig.

His absence will test the squad’s depth, especially with tough matches ahead.
Fans will now look to Paul Onuachu to step up even as they hope for a smooth and swift recovery for their injured Super Eagles star.
