Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, has taken to his social media page to celebrate a memorable debut with Fulham, securing three valuable points in a nail-biting Premier League showdown against Luton Town at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Iwobi, who made a high-profile move to Fulham for a staggering 22 million pounds on the deadline day, unfortunately missed the chance to feature in the matchday squad against Manchester City due to a minor injury setback.
In his maiden appearance for Fulham, Iwobi made a grand entrance as a second-half substitute, replacing Harrison Reed in the 62nd minute.
Fellow Nigerian compatriot Calvin Bassey also joined the action, stepping in for the Brazilian legend, Willian, just a minute after the regulation 90 minutes.
The moment Iwobi stepped onto the pitch, the tide turned. Only three minutes later, Carlos Vinícius sealed the deal with a crucial goal from close range, securing the victory for Fulham.
Vinicius, who had also come off the bench just moments earlier, played a pivotal role in Fulham’s triumph over Luton. Despite dominating possession before halftime, Luton failed to capitalize on their chances.
Iwobi reveled in his new Fulham team’s hard-earned win, a taste of success that had eluded him during his stint at Everton.
He took to his X page (formerly Twitter) to celebrate, sharing pictures from the game with the caption “Debut & 3 Points.”

This victory marked a significant milestone for Iwobi as it broke a streak; it was the first time he had won a game on his debut for both club and country since turning professional.
On the other side of the pitch, Luton Town also experimented with two Nigerian-born players during their narrow loss to Fulham.
Elijah Adebayo and Chiedozie Ogbene were introduced as substitutes in the 74th and 75th minutes, respectively, replacing Tahith Chong and Carlton Morris, shortly after Carlos Vinicius had secured Fulham’s lone goal in the 65th minute of the second half.
With this crucial home win, Fulham now comfortably sits in 9th place on the league table, boasting 7 points from five rounds of matches.
Luton Town, on the other hand, languishes at the bottom with no points after four Premier League matches following their promotion.
Alex Iwobi and his new teammates will now be looking to face Crystal Palace in their upcoming Premier League fixture before taking on Norwich City in the third round of the EFL Cup.
As for the Hatters, they continue to struggle, having lost all four of their matches since their Championship promotion.
Next up, they host Wolves, who have also faced their share of challenges with three losses in four matches.
