Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has praised the Super Falcons for their thrilling win over their bitter rivals Banyana Banyana to reach the WAFCON 2024 final.

Nigeria’s women’s national team showed their championship spirit once again, defeating defending champions South Africa to secure a record 10th WAFCON final appearance, Footballrover reports.
Super Falcons Shine in WAFCON 2024 Semi-Final Thriller
The Falcons delivered a strong performance against Banyana in what turned out to be a tense and dramatic WAFCON semi-final clash.
Michelle Alozie turned out to be the match-winner after her well-placed cross sailed past the South African goalkeeper and into the net, sparking celebration across Nigeria.

Earlier in the game, Rasheedat Ajibade had confidently converted a penalty late in the first half to give Nigeria the lead.
South Africa’s Linda Motlhalo later responded with a penalty of her own to level the scores, but the Super Falcons held their nerve until the final whistle.
Reacting to the emotional win, Troost-Ekong took to social media platform X and posted:
— “LET’S GO! One more to go! Proud of our girls.”
Next Stop: Final Showdown with Hosts Morocco
The Super Falcons will now face the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in the WAFCON 2024 final, which will take place on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

The host nation booked their place in the final after a tense 4-2 penalty shootout win over Ghana’s Black Queens. The game had ended 1-1 after regular and extra time.
With the final ahead, the Falcons are aiming to reclaim the WAFCON title they last won in 2018—also against South Africa—on penalties.
A win on Saturday would seal a record-extending 10th continental title for the Nigerian team, making Mission X more than a dream come true.
