Saturday’s Manchester Derby has drawn a lot of attention after the game ended in a controversial victory for the Red Devils and former Chelsea goalkeeper – Petr Cech has expressed disappointment over the outcome.
The Saturday afternoon English Premier League showdown saw Manchester United run away with a 2-1 victory over their City rivals at Old Trafford, leaving the Ex-chelsea star fuming.
The first half of the match saw United largely dominate, but City handled the second half better and eventually scored the game’s first goal through substitute – Jack Grealish.
In the final 12 minutes, United restored their momentum, with Bruno Fernandes flicking in an equalizer that stood after a questionable offside call.
That Fernandes goal sets a dangerous precedent for strikers – who know they’re offside – chasing after balls and stretching defences, just to let a teammate take the shot.

Soon after the restart, United completed their comeback, with substitute – Garnacho setting up Rashford to score the game-winning goal.
Erik Ten Hag’s team managed to hand on for their dear life until the final whistle.
With those three crucial points, United overtakes Newcastle to move into third position and cut the distance on their City rivals to just one.
The two Manchester clubs are now five and six points, respectively, behind league-leading Arsenal, who still have a game to play.

However, Chelsea legendary goalie – Petr Cech wasn’t pleased with the officials’ decisions because he thought Rashford’s interference with the game should have prevented the equalizer from standing.
“The first United goal just proved the people who make the rules don’t understand the game.” Cech wrote on his twitter page.

Obviously, Rashford was shielding the ball after coming from an offside position and the laws clearly state that the goal should not have stood.
“However, a player can also influence play without touching the ball, and so should be given offside if the referee feels that their offside position has interfered with an opponent – for example by preventing the — opponent from playing the ball or by obstructing a goalkeeper’s line of vision.” – the law states.
