Jack Grealish and Alejandro Garnacho, two second-half substitutions for Manchester City and Manchester United, respectively, were essential in shifting the outcome of the Manchester Derby as Manchester United ran away with a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford in the English Premier League.
In the 57th minute of the second half, Jack Grealish replaced Phil Foden for Manchester City.
Three minutes later he headed home the opening goal for the visitors off a Kevin De Bruyne assist on a Riyad Mahrez goal-bound move inside the Manchester United 18-yard box.
Christian Eriksen was replaced by Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United in the 72nd minute of the second half of the game.
Nine minutes later, Garnacho coordinated a split pass to Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, who scored the second and game-winning goal.
Marcus Rashford becomes the first United player to score in nine Premier League matches in a row at Old TraffordΒ since Dennis Viollet in 1959
Earlier, in the 79th minute of the second half, Rashford had the opportunity to tie the score for Manchester United, but instead chose to leave the ball for Bruno Fernandez, whose right footed effort tucked the ball into the back of the net for the Red Devils to make it 1-1.
Following Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City, there is currently only one point separating the two teams at the top of the English Premier League standings.
Manchester City still holds the second slot on the log with 39 points after 18 matches, while the Red Devils are now third with 38 points in 18 matches.

An incredible turnaround at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford’s goal gave the home side the 2-1 Manchester Derby win.
But Manchester United‘s equaliser four-minutes earlier was highly controversial. Rashford not given offside because he didn’t touch the ball and was not deemed as interfering.
