Manchester City advanced to the next round of FA Cup with a 4-1 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, with Riyad Mahrez the star of the match.

City’s class sparkled in the second half, as they advanced to the fourth round with goals from Gündoan and Stones, as well as a brace from Mahrez.

The Fulham effort that had been so strong in the first half collapsed in the second, and Mahrez’s two quick goals were met with no response as Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to victory.

City has advanced to the fifth round, and if they continue to play with the same vigour as they showed in the second half, few will be able to stop them.

Stones was outstanding for City on both sides of the field in this game, scoring early and completing two crucial passes.

The defender had three tackles and eight ball turnovers, both of which were game highs.

City will go to the FA Cup fifth round, and with the likes of Arsenal and their local rivals Manchester United now out of the competition.

The Pep Guardiola’s side will be confident of going all the way.

Fulham have struggled at this level for the sixth consecutive season, but now that they are in first place in the second tier, Marco Silva’s team will focus solely on the league as they seek to return to the top flight.
