Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu delivered another impressive performance on Thursday, scoring to help Cruz Azul Femenil secure a comfortable 3–0 victory over Necaxa Femenil in their Liga MX Femenil Clausura clash.

The 28-year-old Nigerian striker netted Cruz Azul’s second goal of the match as they cruised to victory at Instalaciones La Noria Cancha 1, Footballrover reports.

Uchenna Kanu Scores as Cruz Azul Dominate Necaxa

Kanu calmly converted from the penalty spot to double the home side’s advantage, helping Cruz Azul secure all three points in the round 11 fixture.

The Nigerian international has been in impressive scoring form recently. She grabbed headlines in her previous outing when she scored a stunning hat-trick in Cruz Azul’s thrilling 6–4 win over Atlas Femenil on February 21.

With Thursday’s goal, Kanu has now scored in back-to-back matches, taking her tally to four goals across those two games.

However, the forward’s night ended in the 56th minute when she was replaced by Cameroonian attacker Michaela Abam.

Cruz Azul Extend Unbeaten Run in Liga MX Femenil

Cruz Azul made a bright start to the encounter, with Liliana Rodríguez opening the scoring just ten minutes into the match.

The hosts were awarded a penalty 25 minutes later, and Kanu stepped up confidently to beat the goalkeeper and send Cruz Azul into the halftime break with a two-goal cushion.

Eight minutes after the hour mark, Ana Martínez added the third goal to seal the victory, extending the team’s unbeaten run to three matches — two wins and a draw.

Despite the win, Cruz Azul remain seventh on the table with 18 points. Their next challenge comes against Santos Laguna Femenil on Wednesday.
