Former Liverpool defender – Jamie Carragher, believes the recently signed Chelsea player – Raheem Sterling is a fantastic player who will excel at the club this season.
Raheem Sterling, according to Jamie Carragher’s article for The Telegraph, will be a huge star for the Blues in the upcoming season.
The former Man City star had a positive impact during his Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Everton, but was denied his first club goal by the linesman’s offside flag.
Having missed out on a deal for Raphinha who later joined Barca earlier in the transfer window, the 27-year-old forward is currently the only major attacking addition the Blues have made.
The England International will obviously be under a great deal of pressure to perform well for the Blues given the club’s front line lacks scoring abilities.

With Sterling being the only outstanding arrival so far, Jamie Carragher, however, feels he is more than capable of meeting these requirements.
Carragher backs Raheem Sterling to succeed at Chelsea by saying;
“Chelsea are now facing more questions due to their slower work in the transfer market. Tuchel’s team is still strong, though, especially following the summer signings of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly. I expect Sterling to be a phenomenal player under Tuchel and there is clearly more money for Chelsea to spend in the coming weeks, with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong a midfield target.”
The crucial London derby against Tottenham hotspur this weekend is the ideal opportunity for Sterling to score his first goal for Chelsea and the forward will be eager to do so as quickly as possible.
It will be essential to avoid giving up such a mental lead after just two weeks into the new campaign because Antonio Conte’s team is widely favored to even finish above the Thomas Tuchel side this year, regardless of the fact that it is still early in the season.
Raheem Sterling:
"I have got to play some football to see that. I haven't played #UCL football with #Chelsea yet. They have obviously won it. I haven't. They have got bragging rights. But again, I am here to try to win it."

Tottenham are one of the teams Sterling has the best record against, with eight goals to his name against Spurs in all competitions. This weekend, Chelsea supporters will surely be praying that this trend continues.
