Kwara United lit up their training ground on Wednesday with a thrilling 3–2 win over House of Prayer FC in a five-goal pre-season showdown that was anything but friendly.

From dramatic goals to tactical tests, this clash had it all—passion, pressure, and even a prayer or two, Footballrover reports.
But it wasn’t just about the win. It was a statement of intent from the Harmony Boys as they sharpen their tools for the upcoming NPFL 2025/26 season.
New Signing Shines as Kwara United Win Fiery Friendly
Goals from Mohammed Alao, Abayomi Lawal, and exciting new addition Mustapha Salisu gave Kwara United the edge in what turned out to be a fiercely contested match.

The team showed glimpses of sharpness, energy, and cohesion, reflecting their readiness to compete both in the domestic league and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Their opponents, House of Prayer, did not come quietly.
The Ilorin-based side, which narrowly missed promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL), pulled two goals back through Abdulkadir Imam and Adama Isaiah.
The spirited comeback nearly turned the match into a full-blown miracle session.
Coach Sanni: “We Must Stay Focused”
After the final whistle, Kwara United coach Tunde Sanni was pleased with the performance but made it clear that there’s still work to be done.

— “It was a good test for us. The boys are showing signs of readiness, but we must stay focused and committed to the pre-season programme to achieve our objectives this season,” Coach Sanni said.
The experienced tactician also stressed the need for consistency, reminding his squad that the new NPFL season kicks off August 22.
With a packed schedule ahead—including their continental campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup—discipline and fitness will be key.
What’s Next for the Harmony Boys?
The Ilorin Boys will return to action in less than 24 hours with another pre-season friendly against Blimz FC, scheduled for 4:00 PM on Thursday at the same venue.
These back-to-back matches are all part of a deliberate effort to build rhythm and chemistry ahead of the new season.
After finishing 14th with 50 points last season, the Harmony Boys are determined to climb higher in the league standings.
And with the FA Cup already in the bag, the team now has its eyes set on greater heights in the NPFL and on the continental stage.
