Nigeria’s victory over Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers has drawn high praise from Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel.

The former Super Eagles captain believes Eric Chelle is the perfect choice to lead Nigeria forward, citing his tactical brilliance and impressive coaching background, Footballrover reports.

Mikel, who closely followed Chelle’s progress with Mali, insists the coach’s first victory in charge of the Eagles is a sign of great things to come.

Following the Super Eagles’ 2-0 win over Rwanda, Mikel Obi didn’t hold back his admiration for Eric Chelle.
