In preparation for the highly anticipated semi-final clash against South Africa at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Nigeria’s star defender Ola Aina has shed light on the team’s dynamic under head coach Jose Peseiro.
The Nottingham Forest defender claimed during a press conference that Peseiro’s demanding approach has been instrumental in propelling the Super Eagles forward, Footballrover reports.
According to the Premier League star, their head coach, Jose Peseiro, has been hard on them, but in a positive way.
A Coach Who Strikes the Right Balance:
Aina praised Peseiro’s leadership style and stressed the need for a coach who is able to be strict when necessary and flexible when needed.
“I think he (Peseiro) is a good coach. He’s hard on us when he needs to do that and lenient when he needs to,” he said.
He commended the coach’s ability to strike the perfect balance, providing necessary guidance and motivation while keeping the atmosphere positive.
Ready for the “Challenge” Against South Africa:
Aina expressed the Super Eagles’ determination and readiness for the “challenge” awaiting them against Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
“It is going to be a good game between two good teams. Myself and my teammates are ready for this challenge,” he said.
This semi-final match, set for the Stade de la Paix stadium in Bouaké on Wednesday, will be a crucial moment in their journey towards lifting the AFCON trophy.
