Nigeria’s secondary school boys and girls teams have been drawn to compete against various opponents in the qualifying stage of the CAF African Schools Football Championship.
In the men’s category, Nigeria’s boys team will compete against Togo and Ghana in Group A, while Group B includes Burkina Faso and Benin Republic.
For the girls’ category, the same groupings apply. Nigeria is placed in Group A and will face Togo and Ghana at the zonal level. Burkina Faso and Benin Republic will battle it out in Group B.
The WAFU-B zonal tournament is set to take place in Lomé, Togo, from November 23 to 26, 2023.
Six teams from West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) will vie for victory to determine the sole representative of the zone in the main tournament in April 2024.
The 2023-24 tournament marks the second edition of the championship, following its inception in 2022.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship is a prestigious youth football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
