Barcelona’s rising star, Ansu Fati, scored his first Premier League goal on a tough Saturday afternoon as his Brighton side suffered a crushing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, with Ollie Watkins netting a spectacular hat-trick and assist.
Aston Villa dominated the match at Villa Park, securing three first-half goals and leaving Brighton in their wake.
Ollie Watkins scored twice, and an unfortunate own goal by Pervis Estupinan put Unai Emery’s men in Premier League heaven before halftime.
In a mere 14 minutes of play, Watkins broke through Brighton’s defense to slot home the opening goal from six yards out.
Just seven minutes later, Aston Villa doubled their lead with Watkins completing his brace, as they swiftly transitioned from defense to attack, putting Brighton under immense pressure.

Brighton’s woes continued as they conceded the third goal in the 26th minute due to an unfortunate mistake by Estupinan, who inadvertently put the ball past his own keeper.
With Aston Villa firmly in control after the first half, Ansu Fati made his entrance, replacing Evan Ferguson.
Within just four minutes on the pitch, the Barcelona sensation found the net for his first his Premier League goal, capitalizing on a fast free-kick from Pedro that left Aston Villa’s defense scrambling.

Fati was in the right place at the right time, making for an easy finish at the right post.
However, Aston Villa showed no mercy and swiftly reestablished their three-goal lead in the 65th minute, with Watkins completing his impressive hat-trick.

Before a double from Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz late in the game sealed deal at Villa Park and it finished Aston Villa 6-1 Brighton and Hove Albion.
