Bayelsa United has expressed their disappointment on social media following a crushing defeat to NPFL champions, Enyimba, in a preseason friendly at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium.

The People’s Elephant convincingly demolished their NPFL counterparts from Yenagoa, reaffirming their dominance in Nigerian football.

The early morning match left Bayelsa United in shock, as they struggled to come to terms with the resounding loss.

After the game, Bayelsa United took to their X page (formerly Twitter), acknowledging that the result was not what they had hoped for.

Nevertheless, they emphasized the positive aspects they can carry forward into the new season with a message that read:

In preparation for the Nigeria Premier Football League, Enyimba demonstrated their championship pedigree to Bayelsa United.

The friendly served as vital preparation for Enyimba ahead of their participation in the African Football League, where they will face Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.

The two-time CAF Champions League winner will be facing Wydad Casablanca, their first-round opponents in this prestigious competition.

The opening leg of this encounter is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on October 20th.
