Coach Abdullahi, in his post-match remarks, lauded his team’s resolve to clinch victory.

“We are very happy for the victory. We worked hard for it, and we thank God that we got all three points from this match,” he said.

The coach revealed that following their previous home match against Bendel Insurance, he stressed to his players the importance of positive results against both Gombe United and Plateau United.

He acknowledged the team’s commendable response, securing four points from the two away fixtures.

While the victory likely propelled Akwa United out of the relegation zone, they are currently tied on points with Bayelsa United in 18th position.

Their next challenge sees them hosting Doma United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Sunday.
