Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new contract with the club, and has revealed that a “great funny guy” was the decisive factor in his decision.
Ndidi, who has been an instrumental player for the Foxes since joining in 2017, put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2027, Footballrover reports.
Ndidi admitted, in an interview with the team’s official website, that he spoke with the team’s new manager, Steve Cooper, before deciding to sign a new deal with Leicester City.

His last deal with the newly promoted Premier League side expired at the end of last month, leaving him a free agent.
In a move to squash rumours surrounding his future, the Super Eagles star decided to sign a new three-year deal with the Foxes on Friday.
The 27-year-old Nigerian international revealed that Cooper was a major factor in his decision to continue playing at Leicester City.
Ndidi revealed that he had a chance to speak with Cooper during the holidays when he came in.
“He had some good ideas to share with me, so it was really, really, really amazing, and I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a great guy; he’s funny. I look forward to working with him; it’s very exciting.”
Recall that the midfielder switched from Belgian Pro League team KRC Genk to Leicester City in January 2017.

He played a major role in Leicester City’s comeback from relegation, netting four goals, providing five assists, and keeping an 82% pass accuracy in 32 league games.
He’ll obviously be a great asset to Steve Cooper because of his progressive play and defensive prowess.
Since joining the team seven years ago, Ndidi has featured in 273 matches, scoring 17 goals. With his new contract, he may serve Leicester City for a decade.
