This impressive feat was accomplished during Nantes’ hard-fought 1-1 draw against Angers SCO over the weekend.

His latest accomplishment places him fifth on the list of Nigerian players with the most appearances in Ligue 1, trailing legends like John Utaka, Wilson Oruma, Taye Taiwo, and Victor Ikpeba.
Adding to his accolades, Simon’s assist in the Angers clash added more feather to his wings as Nantes’ most influential player since their return to Ligue 1 in 2013.
His precise delivery to Johann Lepenant in the 18th minute of the match was all Nantes needed to take an early advantage before Angers managed to equalise later on.
With this assist, the 29-year-old surpassed the previous club record held by the late Emiliano Sala, now standing as Nantes’ all-time top contributor with 29 assists in Ligue 1.
This season, Simon has been a bright light so far, contributing two goals and two assists in just five matches.
His impressive performances also earned him the title of Nantes’ Player of the Month for August.
