It took the Nigerian international just three games to get off the mark, setting the tone for what could be a thrilling campaign after their promotion, Footballrover reports.

Ndidi’s moment of glory came at the King Power Stadium, where he scored Leicester’s third goal in a 4-0 demolition of the English Football League Two side in the EFL Cup.

The Cup game started on a competitive note for both teams, but it took Leicester just 38 minutes to pierce through Tranmere’s defence.

The breakthrough came courtesy of new signing Jordan Ayew, who was brought in just last week and wasted no time making an impact.

His goal gave the Foxes a slim advantage heading into the break.

Five minutes into the second half, Stephy Mavididi doubled Leicester’s lead before Ndidi delivered his own strike, giving Leicester an unassailable 3-0 lead.

And just when it seemed like the action was winding down, Harry Winks added the finishing touch in stoppage time, making it 4-0, which left the home fans cheering till the final whistle.

It was a thoroughly deserved victory for Ndidi and his teammates, who dominated with 74% possession, 24 goal attempts, and nine shots on target.

Meanwhile, Tranmere could only manage just three goal attempts, none of which troubled Leicester’s goalkeeper.

With this emphatic win, Leicester will carry their momentum into their next fixture at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, where they face Aston Villa in EPL matchday three.

Ndidi and his team are still searching for their first Premier League win since their return to the top flight.

After a 1-1 draw with Tottenham in their opener and a narrow defeat to Fulham in their second league game, a victory against Villa is crucial.
