Doma United coach, Akinade Onigbinde, has identified Victor Osimhen’s look-alike as the next big thing to come out of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Coach Akinade Onigbinde said this on Thursday after their rescheduled matchday 16 contest against Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Chibuike Charles Samson is his name; the 19-year-old Doma United striker, who remarkably resembles Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
Because of his physique, playing style, and hairdo, the attacker has already been compared to the Super Eagles’ forward Osimhen.
Chibuike, who was born in Enugu State and raised in Minna, Niger State, studied social development at Kaduna Polytechnic but ultimately decided to follow his passion for football.
Chibuike Charles has only managed to score three goals after joining the NPFL newcomers, Doma United, at the start of their journey in the 2022–23 season.
Prior to scoring against the Niger Tornadoes and Bayelsa United, his first goal came in their league debut against the Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Following their 2-0 defeat to Rivers United in Port Harcourt, Coach Akinade told Footballrover that the Victor Osimhen’s look-alike is going to be the next big thing, but only if he succeeds in keeping his head down.
“He’s not bad, he’s a very good striker. He’s just coming up and I believe if he can bring his head down, with the way he’s going, he’s going to be a good striker, a solid player.” – coach Akinade said.
