Galatasaray fans were left in so much excitement after Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen delivered a stunning brace in the Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe derby, sealing a crucial victory in one of Turkey’s fiercest football rivalries.

The Nigerian forward stepped up when it mattered most, proving his worth once again with a brace that earned the Turkish giants a 2-1 win over their bitter rivals, Footballrover reports.

He opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the match, pouncing on a loose ball and blasting a powerful shot past the goalkeeper.

Four minutes later, Galatasaray was awarded a penalty after Filip Kostić handled the ball in the box.

Osimhen stepped up, and despite the goalkeeper getting a hand on it, his shot found the bottom right corner to make it 2-0.

Although Fenerbahçe managed to pull one back through Sebastian Szymański, Galatasaray held on to secure their place in the next round of the Turkish Cup.

But beyond his performance on the pitch, Osimhen had heartfelt words for the club and its supporters.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen acknowledged the intensity of the Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe derby, emphasising the need for focus from start to finish.

He admitted the team felt optimistic heading into the game but also recognised their responsibility to make up for their previous defeat.

“We know that Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe matches are intense and difficult. We had to stay focused for the full 90 minutes. Unfortunately, we made our fans unhappy last week, so we had to play well here to compensate,” Osimhen stated.

The 26-year-old striker also expressed his deep affection for the club, revealing how much he has grown to love both the fans and the team.

“Since I came here, I have really loved this club, the people, and the fans. I want to repay their love by working hard,” he added.

Osimhen grateful to teammates, determined to give more

Despite his individual brilliance, Osimhen was quick to credit his teammates for their role in his success.

“Scoring in the derby was important, but without my teammates doing crucial work, I wouldn’t have scored those goals. I am grateful to them,” he said.

With Galatasaray now back to winning ways, Victor Osimhen remains determined to give his all.

“I want to continue my performance and do everything for this team,” he concluded.
