Victor Olatunji Nets 6th Goal of Season in Sparta Prague's Tough Loss

Victor Olatunji was once again on the scoresheet for Sparta Prague with his 6th of the season, though his efforts weren’t enough to prevent a 3-2 home defeat to Sigma Olomouc in Friday night’s Czech top-flight clash.Victor Olatunji Nets 6th Goal of Season in Sparta Prague's Tough Loss

The Nigerian forward, who has been in solid form this season, bagged his third league goal and sixth overall for Sparta, footballrover reports.

Olatunji put his side ahead early, finding the back of the net in the 12th minute to give Sparta the advantage.

However, their lead was erased in the 67th minute when fellow Nigerian striker, Yunusa Muritala, struck back with the equaliser for Sigma.

Despite the result, Olatunji continues to impress in his first full season with Sparta Prague.

The 25-year-old striker, who joined the club in 2023, has become a key figure for the team after helping them secure both the Czech league title and Cup last season.

Before making his mark in the Czech Republic, Olatunji’s career took him across Europe, with stints at Slovan Liberec in Slovakia, AEK Larnaca in Cyprus, and Mattersburg in Austria.

With six goals already this campaign, the former Lagos Islanders forward looks set for another standout season in Prague.

Though the defeat will sting, Olatunji’s consistent goal-scoring form remains a bright spot for Sparta as they aim to bounce back in the coming fixtures.
