The Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has sent a clear message to fans and critics alike: his winning formula won’t be tinkered with.
Despite some concerns over goalscoring, Peseiro has confirmed he’ll stick to his preferred 3-4-3 formation when Nigeria lock horns with Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 on Saturday, Footballrover reports
This comes after the Portuguese tactician deviated from his usual 4-3-3 in the Super Eagles’ last two group stage matches, against Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau.
His bold tactical switch paid off, securing crucial victories and propelling Nigeria into the knockout stages.

Peseiro confidently declared his trust in his players and belief in the current formation, stating that there was no need to fix a system that is generating the most scoring opportunities in the tournament, as evidenced by the statistics.
While acknowledging the need for sharper finishing, Peseiro remains bullish about his team’s chances against their fierce rivals.
Cameroon. “We know the history between these two nations,” he said. “It’s always a battle, and tomorrow will be no different. But we’re aiming for more than just one goal. We want to attack as a unit, defend together, and ultimately claim victory.”
The Super Eagles face the Indomitable Lions at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Saturday, with kick-off set for 9 p.m. Nigerian time.
