The defeat not only dented Rwanda’s FIFA World Cup qualification hopes but also left Amrouche deeply embarrassed by his team’s performance, Footballrover reports.

Amrouche, visibly frustrated after the final whistle, did not mince words about his team’s performance.

“I am very ashamed today,” the Rwanda coach admitted. “We can’t give such a performance like this in front of all these fans and the president, Paul Kagame.”

With President Kagame watching from the stands, the stakes were high for Rwanda.
