With a stunning 4-0 victory over the formidable Rivers State chapter of Nollywood actors, the Rivers DJs left an indelible mark on the competition.
The one-sided game developed into a thrilling spectacle that displayed the DJs’ outstanding technique and teamwork.
The Port Harcourt DJs, led by their charismatic captain, showcased their dominance from the outset, breezing past the Actors’ defence and netting three incredible goals in the first half.
A late goal in the second period sealed their triumph, securing their well-deserved victory in the five-day tournament against the Nollywood Actors who forgot to act according to their scripts.
The Sabi Cup was created by popular Nigerian comedian – Emmanuael Chukwuemeka Ejekiru, also known as Mr Funny, Oga Sabinu. It was exclusively tailored for entertainers in Rivers State
The path to glory was paved with thrilling clashes, as the actors displayed their mettle by trouncing bouncers 5-0 to earn a spot in the finals.
Meanwhile, the DJs edged past poets with a 2-0 victory, setting the stage for an anticipated showdown.
The grand finale of the Sabi Cup drew an illustrious crowd, graced by Port Harcourt’s very own Nigerian musical icons, Mr 2Kay and the dynamic Ajebo Hustlers.
Amidst the riveting atmosphere, Mr Lyfe, a content creator, emerged as the standout player of the tournament, seizing the prestigious title and a rewarding prize of five hundred thousand naira.
The DJ’s resolute defense played a pivotal role in their victory, with their goalkeeper emerging as the tournament’s best in his position.
For his outstanding performance, he too was rewarded with five hundred thousand naira.
The winners, the exultant DJs, received a generous one million naira cash prize from Sabinus, adding to the jubilation of their triumph.
Overflowing with elation, Sabinus expressed his delight over the tournament’s resounding success and the overwhelming support from the enthusiastic crowd.
