Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu continued his outstanding form this season, bagging a brace to drive Trabzonspor’s spirited comeback in a lively 3–1 victory over Konyaspor in Saturday night’s Turkish Super Lig showdown.

After Trabzonspor fell behind, Onuachu coolly tucked away the equaliser, then followed it up with a sharp finish to put his side in front.

Trabzonspor shook off a shaky start to claim a vibrant all three points over Konyaspor, turning an early setback into a stunning performance in front of an energised home crowd.

The evening threatened to drift off-script when Okay Yokuşlu, under pressure, sliced the ball into his own net in the 17th minute.

It stunned the stadium for a moment, but it also woke Trabzonspor up. From then on, the hosts played like a side with a point to prove.

Their response gathered pace, and just before the break, Onuachu dragged them level from the spot.

With the momentum fully theirs, Trabzonspor didn’t ease off. In the 56th minute, Ernest Muçi capped the comeback with a sharp finish, sealing the win and the rhythm of the match in one swing of his boot.

Onuachu Powers Victory with Second-Half Brace

Onuachu’s influence has been nothing short of outstanding. He’s now scored in three straight matches, adding to his goals against Alanyaspor and Başakşehir.

The Nigerian striker has pushed his tally to ten goals and one assist in his last eleven outings, a run that shows just how central he’s become to Trabzonspor’s attack.

Across 14 league games this season, the 31-year-old has produced eleven goals and one assist—twelve goal contributions in total—and sits comfortably at the top of the scoring chart:

“It feels good (to score 11 goals). But the most important thing is to win. We started the match a little slowly. We woke up after conceding the goal. The team showed a good fight today. After conceding the goal, we put our own game on display.”

“This team has shown that it can achieve great things. I am very happy for the team. We are a family team. When my friends I play with score a goal, I am as happy as if it was my own. The whole team is doing a good job. We are a family team,” Onuachu said, per Super Haber.

The win keeps Trabzonspor third in the table, with 31 points from 14 matches.

With Onuachu in this kind of form, they’ll head into Sunday’s clash with Göztepe full of confidence—after first taking care of Wednesday’s Turkish Cup tie against Van Spor Kulübü.
