CAF Champions League contenders Remo Stars have suffered a major blow with the departure of their talismanic striker, Ossy Martins.
The lethal forward is heading back to Lobi Stars on loan, just six months after joining the Sky Blue Stars, Footballrover reports.
Martins, known for his clinical finishing and goal-scoring prowess, will not be part of Remo Stars’ squad for the upcoming NPFL season.
The club has decided to offload several players on loan as they prepare for the new campaign.
The 23-year-old’s return to Lobi Stars marks his second stint with the Makurdi-based club.
His experience and goal-scoring ability are expected to bolster Lobi Stars’ bid for the NPFL title.
Martins has had a nomadic career, starting at Abia Warriors before moving to Rivers United.
He’s also had spells with Lobi Stars, Rangers, US Tataouine in Tunisia, and Dumlupinar TSK in Cyprus.
Joining Martins on the exit door are Seth Mayi, Isaac James, and new Ghanaian goalkeeper Emmanuel Ofori, who are all heading to Sunshine Stars.
Victor Collins returns to Nassarawa United, while Habeeb Yakub will also be leaving Remo Stars.
These departures will undoubtedly test Remo Stars’ depth as they look to balance domestic commitments with their continental aspirations.
