Muhamed Tijani has finally opened his Plymouth Argyle goal account, and the Nigerian forward couldn’t hide his emotions.
The 24-year-old, who joined the club on loan from Banik Ostrava last summer, shared his excitement after scoring his first goal for Plymouth in their 1-1 draw against Cardiff City at Home Park, Footballrover reports.
Muhamed Tijani’s first goal for Plymouth: ‘Can’t put it into words’
Having endured a tough spell with injuries, Tijani marked his return in style.
He came off the bench in the 63rd minute and, within four minutes, delivered a crucial equaliser.
Reacting to his milestone, Tijani expressed his joy on X, writing: “The feeling of scoring my first goal in front of our fans at Home Park can’t be put into words. Thanks for fighting with us, we keep pushing.”
The goal was not only special for the forward but also vital for Plymouth, who are battling relegation in the Championship.
A long-awaited moment for Tijani
Tijani has now featured in seven league matches for Plymouth this season.
Before this breakthrough moment, his only goal contribution came on September 27, when he assisted in a 3-1 win over Luton Town.
Despite Plymouth having a numerical advantage after Cardiff’s Dimitrios Goutas was sent off, they couldn’t find a winner.
The result leaves them in 23rd place, with relegation fears growing.
Looking ahead, Plymouth faces a tough FA Cup clash against Manchester City before resuming their league campaign against Hull City.
With his first goal for Plymouth now in the books, Tijani will be hoping to build on this momentum and help his team fight for survival.
