Sixteen minutes into the second half, Nantes doubled their advantage, and it was Moses Simon who stepped up.

Simon kept his composure, sending goalkeeper Mathew Ryan the wrong way with a powerful strike into the bottom left corner—his sixth league goal of the season.

RC Lens quickly responded, earning a penalty of their own after a VAR check. Neil El Aynaoui slotted home from the spot, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

However, Lens’ hopes of a comeback took a hit in the 70th minute when M’Bala Nzola was shown a straight red card, leaving the visitors with ten men.

The hosts sealed the victory in stoppage time when Meschack Elia broke free, slotting home past the Lens goalkeeper to make it 3-1.

Simon’s performance stood out once again, as he not only found the net but also registered four successful dribbles, completed 90% of his passes, and made four ball recoveries.

His tally now stands at 13 goal contributions —six league goals and seven assists, proving his influence in Nantes’ attacking play.

With this vital win, Nantes regain momentum in Ligue 1, and with Moses Simon in top form, they’ll look to build on this success in the matches ahead.
