Super Falcons star Motunrayo Ezekiel lit up the weekend with a stunning moment of brilliance, scoring a late equaliser that saved Valencia from defeat in their Spanish Liga F clash against Levante Badalona.
The Nigerian midfielder, who had already notched an assist earlier in the season, made her mark with her first Liga F goal—a beauty that salvaged a 1-1 draw at the Estadi Municipal de Badalona, Footballrover reports.
It was just her sixth appearance since joining the club, and she delivered when it mattered most.
Motunrayo Ezekiel delivers first Liga F goal in style
It was a cagey first half that ended goalless, but the drama kicked in just a minute after the restart when Levante Badalona’s Elena Julve broke the deadlock.
Valencia looked rattled and on the verge of another loss—until Motunrayo Ezekiel stepped up.
Thrown into the game in the 82nd minute as a late substitute for Anita, the 21-year-old needed barely eight minutes to turn the tide.
With a composed finish, she scored her first Liga F goal, restoring parity and sparking hope for the visitors.
Despite having only 46% of possession, Valencia held firm, and Ezekiel’s strike was enough to snatch a point from what could have been another painful outing.
Too late for Valencia, but not for Motunrayo Ezekiel
Sadly, the result couldn’t change the club’s fate. Valencia have been officially relegated after a tough season where they managed just five wins from 29 games, losing 17 and drawing seven.
They sit rock-bottom in 16th place with only 22 points.
Still, Motunrayo Ezekiel’s impact has been one of the few bright sparks.
Her second goal contribution may not have saved the team’s season, but it shows her potential and fighting spirit—even when all hope seemed lost.
Valencia will wrap up their campaign with one final showdown against Real Madrid, but the focus will now shift to what the future holds for rising stars like Ezekiel.
