Monday Etim wasted no time making his mark in the new Danish season, scoring a crucial goal to help Hillerød come from behind to defeat Middelfart 2-1 on Saturday.

The Nigerian forward’s sharp finish not only marked his first goal of the campaign but also sparked a much-needed comeback in the Danish Betinia Liga opener at the Helsingør Ny Stadion OPV, Footballrover reports.
Monday Etim’s Equaliser Sparks Comeback
The 26-year-old forward netted the first goal of the season for Hillerød when he coolly slotted home a penalty just ten minutes after his side went behind.
His right-footed shot to the bottom right corner made it 1-1 and revived the team’s hopes after a shaky start.
Earlier, Albanian midfielder Bardhec Bytyqi had given the away side the lead in the 12th minute with a clinical strike from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal.
But the home team responded well, with Etim stepping up under pressure to convert from the spot.
Hillerød Hold On After Justinussen’s Winner
The momentum stayed with the hosts into the second half. In the 67th minute, Adrian Justinussen produced a moment of brilliance to put them in front.

His right-footed shot from a tight angle on the right sailed into the top corner, making it 2-1.
Etim was later substituted in the 80th minute, with Mathias Veltz coming on to help close out the game.
However, his teammates held firm through eight minutes of added time to seal all three points in their league opener against Middelfart.
Etim will be aiming to build on last season’s impressive performance, where he scored 11 goals and added five assists in 28 games.
With this strong start, the Nigerian forward looks ready to surpass that tally in the 2024/25 Danish campaign.
