Beyond Limits FA are the new kings of youth football in Sweden after clinching the Gothia Cup 2025 title with a thrilling 7-6 penalty victory over arch-rivals ASEC Mimosas.

The final, played at Gamla Ullevi on Saturday, ended 1-1 in regular time before the Nigerian side held their nerve to lift the prestigious youth trophy in dramatic fashion, Footballrover reports.

From the opening game, Beyond Limits stamped their authority on the tournament. They kicked off their campaign with an emphatic 9-0 win over BK Häcken, sending a strong message to all contenders.

In the group stage, they edged NorCal Premier PDP 1-0 before recording a 2-0 win against GIF Sundsvall to top their group in style.

In the quarter-final stages, they pulled off a solid 3-0 victory over V-Varen Nagasaki.

Their semi-final clash was against Ghanaian side Right to Dream, a high-stakes encounter that went down to penalties after a tightly contested match.

Beyond Limits triumphed 5-3, showing composure under pressure and securing their place in the final.

The final was a rematch full of tension and rivalry. ASEC Mimosas struck first, with Zongo Ange Emmanuel Emile scoring in the 5th minute.

But Adeboyejo Emmanuel Ayowonuola quickly responded 15 minutes later to bring Beyond Limits back into the game.

Neither side could find a winner in regular time, and penalties became the decider.

ASEC Mimosas missed two of their eight attempts, while the Remo Stars feeder missed just once—sealing a dramatic and well-earned victory for the Ikenne-based team.

This victory is especially sweet for the Nigerians, who were semifinalists in the Gothia Puma Trophy (B17) during the Gothia Cup 2024, where they narrowly lost 4-5 to fellow Nigerian side Sporting Lagos.

With this title, Beyond Limits have not only secured their first Gothia Cup 2025 crown but also restored Nigerian dominance at the elite youth tournament.
