The Nigerian football awards arena was painted with glitz and glamour as the League Bloggers celebrated the best and the stars of the 2023–2024 season on Friday night.

From the thrilling pitches of the NPFL to the burgeoning NWFL and NNL, outstanding individuals and teams were recognised for their exceptional performances last season, Footballrover reports.

The Award Winners

NPFL Dominance

Rivers United’s youngster, Oscar Ozornwafor, claimed the NPFL Young Player of the Season award, showing the league’s rich talent pool.

Remo Stars’ Frank Mawuena was honoured as the Foreign Player of the Season, recognising players from beyond.

Enyimba’s Chijioke Mbaoma emerged as the Striker of the Season, while Enugu Rangers’ Kazeem Ogunleye and Remo Stars’ Ismailia Sodiq secured the Midfielder and Defender of the Season titles, respectively.

Bendel Insurance’s Amas Obasogie was named Goalkeeper of the Season for his stellar performances.

Enugu Rangers’ Fidelis Ilechukwu clinched the prestigious NPFL Manager of the Season award, while the Shooting Stars fans were recognised as the NPFL Fans of the Season.

Sporting Lagos FC was lauded for its exceptional media coverage, winning the NPFL Club Media of the Season.

NWFL Brilliance

Edo Queens dominated the NWFL awards, with Emem Essien winning Player of the Season and Moses Adiku claiming Coach of the Season honour.

FC Robo’s Folashade Ijamilusi finished as the league’s top scorer.

Beyond the Top Leagues

Akwa United’s Sani Suleiman was named NPFL Rookie of the Season.

In the NNL, Dada Olademiji of Madiba FC won the Top Scoring Player award, while Kparobo Arierhi of Beyond Limits FA was named Player of the Season.

Commercial Accolades

Afrinvest’s partnership with Rangers International was recognised as the best brand sponsorship in the NPFL, while BetKing Nigeria’s support for Ikorodu City earned them the best brand sponsorship in the NNL.

The League Bloggers Awards have once again shown the vibrant, competitive, and growing nature of football in Nigeria.

As the new season approaches, these award winners will undoubtedly inspire and motivate players and other coaches to do more to also be honoured.
