Lazio coach Marco Baroni has shed light on what Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru must do to thrive in Serie A.
Marco Baroni, in a move to mentor Dele-Bashiru, believes that the 23-year-old has the physicality and speed required for Italian football but highlighted two key areas for improvement, Footballrover reports.
What are these crucial steps?
After arriving from Turkish club Hatayspor, Dele-Bashiru has struggled to make an immediate impact in Rome.
Baroni acknowledged his talent but emphasised that mastering the mental side of the game is essential for Dele-Bashiru to truly shine in Serie A.
The coach further pointed out the stark difference between the tactical demands of Serie A and the style of football Dele-Bashiru is used to.
Baroni made it clear that, while Deleās physical attributes are undeniable, mental consistency is critical to his growth.

In addition to mental development, Baroni also stressed the importance of patience.
Fisayo, along with his teammate Tchaouna, will need time to adapt, despite Lazio’s packed schedule.
However, the coach is confident that if given room to learn from mistakes, the Nigerian midfielder will reach his full potential.
āDele is a strong player who will surely explode; he must have greater mental continuity. He comes from a different kind of football; itās not easy to get into the speed of thought of Serie A,ā Baroni told a press conference ahead of Lazioās UEFA Europa League clash against Dutch club Twente.

āHe has the speed and physicality; he must grow mentally, as does Tchaouna. They are guys who need to be given time; we donāt have time, and I donāt like to talk about time.
āHowever, there is a path to follow and respect when you move to a team like Lazio. With the competitions that Lazio faces, we will also have to give them time to make mistakes, but I am convinced that they will be able to do their best,” coach Marco said.
