Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has finally registered his first La Liga goal, finding the net again to inspire Atlético Madrid to a well-deserved 4–2 victory over Espanyol on Saturday night.

The Round 25 clash saw Lookman score Atlético’s third goal as Diego Simeone’s side cruised past their visitors at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Footballrover reports.

The Nigerian winger has now scored in back-to-back games for the Spanish outfit, following his strike in the 3–3 draw against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.

At 28, Lookman has already found the net for Atlético Madrid in all competitions despite joining the club just two weeks ago.

He now boasts four goals and two assists in six appearances — a remarkable return for a player still settling into a new environment.

Unsurprisingly, supporters have been impressed by his immediate impact and sharpness in front of goal.

Atlético Madrid boosted their top-four push with a win over RCD Espanyol, ending a four-game winless run and claiming a first victory over the Catalans in five meetings.

Espanyol struck early through Jofre Carreras after Tyrhys Dolan’s surge, but Atlético responded as Alexander Sørloth volleyed home from Marcos Llorente’s delivery.

Lookman Fuels Atlético Madrid’s Top-Four Push

After the break, Atlético took control. Álex Baena set up Giuliano Simeone for his first home league goal in 10 months, and Lookman soon added a third with a diving header before being replaced by Julián Alvarez.

Sørloth later sealed the result with a powerful header after hitting the post earlier.

Cyril Ngonge rattled the crossbar for Espanyol, and Edu Expósito grabbed a late consolation, but Diego Simeone’s side were dominant.

The win moves Atlético level on points with Villarreal and six clear of Real Betis in fifth.
