Nigerian stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi experienced disappointing defeat in the EFL Cup third round when they went up against Liverpool.
The Super Eagles duo featured for Leicester City, but let their early lead slipped away in a 3-1 defeat at Anfield.

The game started with the hosts falling behind after just three minutes when McAteer scored. Liverpool missed several golden opportunities to level the score before halftime.
However, Liverpool quickly equalized after the break, with Gakpo finding the bottom corner just three minutes into the second half.
The home side took the lead later in the half with Szoboszlai’s powerful strike from the edge of the box, and Jota’s delightful backheel sealed the victory.

This win enables Liverpool to advance to the fourth round of the EFL Cup, and they will soon return to Premier League action with a match against Tottenham on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi’s journey in the EFL Cup has come to an end, but their primary focus remains on the Championship and their main target is a return back to the Premier League after relegation last season.
