Tolu Arokodare steps up again with his 18th goal of season
Back from international duty, Tolu Arokodare wasted no time getting back into his groove for Genk.
The Nigerian forward had a bit of luck and a bit of misfortune on Sunday. Early in the match, Jarne Steuckers of Gent squandered a golden chance to give his side the lead with a missed penalty.
Just moments later, Arokodare created some space outside the box, latched onto a brilliant pass, and smashed a powerful shot into the back of the net.
However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to a handball, and a penalty was awarded to Genk.
Despite stepping up confidently for the spot kick, Arokodare’s attempt narrowly missed the left post, leaving fans to wonder if it would be one of those days.
But Arokodare wasn’t discouraged. At the 50th minute, the Super Eagles star showed his composure by calmly slotting home his 18th goal of the season, doubling Genk’s lead and keeping his remarkable run alive.

The win ensures Genk continue to enjoy their growing momentum.
Looking ahead, Genk will face Anderlecht in their next match, with fans eagerly awaiting to see if Arokodare can add to his already impressive tally.
