Lampard was questioned about Chelsea’s interest in Mauricio Pochettino prior to Wednesday’s matchup with their neighbors Brentford.
“I’m not going to get involved in any future manager talk. It’s all speculation at this stage, simple as that.” Lampard said.
After being asked if he anticipated staying in command of Chelsea for the remainder of the campaign after losing all four of his games thus far, Lampard responded:
“I won’t expect anything in football, but I think it’s very clear we’ve come into this club when it’s in big difficulties. We had one day to prepare for Wolves and two games against Real Madrid.”
The Chelsea interim manager continued by saying that the second performance was much better and a true team effort, as he wanted to see, adding that there was a game against Brighton in between that where he had to make numerous squad changes.
However, Lampard emphasized that a number of issues had a part in the four matches since he started working at Stamford Bridge.
He claims that everyone else and the club had been having trouble for some time and that he simply arrived with the intention of finding solutions, and he will continue to do so shortly.
He said he would continue to give it his all even though the world might likely not change in the near future.
