As Napoli edges closer to lifting the Serie A title, their hitman, Victor Osimhen, is certainly eager to get his hands on the trophy after claiming it’s now their turn.
The Napoli player couldn’t help but share his happiness on social media after his team narrowly defeated Juventus on Sunday night in Serie A.
Osimhen and his teammates prevailed at the Allianz Stadium by a slim margin in what appears to be the important title-deciding match.
Raspadori, a substitute, scored the game’s winning goal for Luciano Spalletti’s team in the 93rd minute to earn them a hard-fought three points.
During the opening 45 minutes, Juventus dominated and prevented Napoli from getting a shot off.
Unfortunately, they struggled to put Meret to the test, as the Italian goalkeeper made easy saves to keep Cuadrado and Milik off the scoresheet.
At the other end, Victor Osimhen remained silent until the 70th minute, during which time he had three opportunities to establish the lead for the visiting Napoli but failed to do so.
His low shot from within the box was initially deflected just beyond the goal, then his header from the ensuing corner was directed directly at Szczesny.
Before, he caught Di Lorenzo’s curling pass, but he aimed his attempt to score narrowly over the bar.
Juventus felt they had secured the game-winning goal when Di Maria scored after connecting with Locatelli’s pass down the right wing
However, the goal was overturned when a VAR review revealed Milik had fouled Lobotka.
Elmas’ right-wing cross found Raspadori, who subsequently smashed a shot into the back of the net to give Napoli the lead in stoppage time.
The Nigerian international quickly rushed to Twitter shortly after the game to celebrate his team’s close victory over Juventus.
The Serie A’s top scorer told Napoli supporters that they had waited long enough to get their hands on the league trophy and that it is now their turn to do so.
“Dear Neapolitans,You Have Waited Long Enough! Now It’s Your Turn.” – Osimhen wrote on Twitter.
