Kwara United FC has set their sights on continental glory, with Technical Adviser Kabiru Dogo targeting qualification for the prestigious 2024/2025 CAF Champions League.

Dogo made these comments during a media parley with the Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on Monday, Footballrover reports.

Dogo’s ambitions extend beyond the continental stage, with the gaffer also setting his sights on the 2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.

Expressing his confidence in the club’s management, Dogo acknowledged the strong support he received last season and the roadmap established for continued success.

Kwara United FC has what it takes to compete at the highest level in Africa,” declared the coach. 

Dogo highlighted the quality within his squad, emphasising the presence of several players capable of achieving success on the continent.

Looking back at last season, Dogo acknowledged his disappointment with the number of drawn matches, which he believes was the key difference between his team and champions Enugu Rangers.

However, he remains focused on the future, vowing to,

Win the title next season and put smiles on the faces of the people of Kwara State.”

The Kwara United boss expressed his appreciation for the management’s efforts in retaining key players and granting him the freedom to manage the team.

He also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support over the past two seasons.

Dogo revealed the governor’s encouragement through the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji.

The coach further extended his gratitude to the Kwara United faithful, the supporters, FA Chairman Idris Abdullahi (Thuraya), and his entire community for their backing.
